I am having problems with viewing my new blog entry. Just want to give you a heads up.

Weird. It shows fine on your profile, and other blogs and blog entries also works. I suspect you managed to enter a combination of meta-data which is causing an error on the server. Will need one of the overlords to look at.

Fixed.. it was a result of us reaching the 100,000th blog entry. Kind of like our own mini y2k bug ;)

100,000 blog entries? But I'm only at # 130. Who has posted all these other blog entries?!?

Seriously though, that's a pretty big number, and coming on the same week that you guys were elected # 1 travel blog site by Izunotravel.com! Big week!

Well, effectively it's 'only' 50,000 blog entries and change (50,399 at the time of writing). There's probably a thousand-odd deleted blog entries, but the remaining 48,000 blog entry ids were for temporary entries created by the auto-save feature. Still, those count for the database. :)

Heh, didn't realise till after I posted this that there were in fact far fewer actual live blog entries. Total live entries is currently around 40,000. Thanks Sander for the clarification - I was wondering about the discrepancy :)

Incidentally, that 50,000 count on the stats page must be taking into account some deleted, or otherwise not quite live posts (ie, spammers posts, etc). My count of 40,000 is based on total blog entries as indexed by our search engine. That should theoretically be the most accurate count.

Yeah, I guess for performance reasons that stats page just does a select count(*) without filtering out deleted entries and drafts.
