Disappointing travel destinations.... it's all about expectation.

For instance, did I ever tell you about this gorgeous, large-breasted, blonde babe I lusted after named Crystal? Her real name ended up being Stephen.

Ok so is that a story of you being disappointed or your expectations being exceeded?

Dissapointed. But even more so because she'd earlier told me that she was a nymphomaniac and her father owned a brewery

lol ok yeah that would be a disappointment. I think I might have still had to do her..him

I thought all you Aussie's are taught the Paul Hogan reach under and check routine?

I I'm guessing this thread will get about 4 views since theres no sex or disappointment involved. Move along people, nothing to see here.

U seem to be a bit of a whinner yourself Dodger. Dont u have any travel topics to start instead of a topic to complain about the other topics.

Ah come on kids - can't we all just get along?

Being the Moderator for this forum, I found the comparison one of interest and it is General Talk after all. So, we can bring it back to topic and go along our merry way posting or it can continue to be jacked and then I move it over to Off Topic. For the moment, I'm letting it stay because I think other members may actually have some additional opinions on the subject. (And I don't mean about James' Chrystal story.) ;)

Isa now returns this thread to it's originally scheduled topic...

Okay, back on topic.

I first viewed this thread purely out of curiosity. It's interesting to read people's different perspectives on places, particularly places that you may have visited yourself and been impressed with.

I've been to Vienna a couple of times, and was surprised that I was disappointed with it the second time. When I think about it, it was pretty much to do with the weather and the lack of excitement the second time around being a fair bit older than the first time.

Also, I found Noumea an over-priced, over-rated nothing of a place.

Oh and it was Crystal, not Chrystal. Come to thing of it, was it Steven or Stephen?

I've seldom visited anywhere where I didn't find anything of value. In fact , the 'disappointing destinations' thread gives me a good idea about a few posters whose opinions I can disregard in other threads, as I simply don't agree with them at all....

I hear ya, but then just like destinations, sometimes you have to be open to giving people a second chance too.;)
