I have never met 'the one' on holiday, but I've met 'the dumb one'. I was on holiday in Gran Canaria and I met this guy who was on holiday with sum of his friends. any way we spent most of the holiday together-inseperable, but then one night, I started talking to a friend of his and he dissapppeared into the night. I went back to my apartment and the next day he wasn't by the pool, his friends said he had been in a fight-so I'm all worried and I go to see him, only for him to tell me, he'd started the fight with some stranger because I was TALKING to his friend. Needless to say I don't keep in touch.xx
Sjeezz...now I'm even MORE looking forward to my Eurotrip in october;-)
Let the love stories come people!!!
Hehe..I actually am escaping Holland because of the traumatized girls who have been in my life:P
I remember when I was 7 - 15 years old that EACH year I went on vacation with my parents, I fell in love with some camping girl:-)
Think most of those girls were some years older than me hehe
It must be the atmosphere and mental state...being on vacation is possibly the most beautiful thing in life.
Especially being away on your own, into the unknown, causes this energy flow inside of you, the excitement. I think it shows on your face.
So when you meet someone in all this freedom and admiration for the world, it must give an amazing feeling to share that vibe with a likewise person.

i'm on the other side of the coin, my now Dutch boyfriend was on a working holiday in Ireland when I met him, he was originally planning a fleeting trip to earn money and go travelling back to Asia, well its two years later, he's still here and we're living together, planning a trip to Egypt in 6 weeks...............
I've just met my soulmate. SOULMATE. few weeks ago I thought its a fantasy this soulmate story...........OK........for me, right now its real
Its a dream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, I feel like I should expand on my earlier comments now...
I said that I had "failure stories." By that I meant that I haven't meet the "one," as I am currently single. But I have meet some great women in my travels, and fondly remember those experiences.
One prime example was I was down in South America. I was coming off a bad relationship that had broken up long before my trip had started but that I was still obsessing over. The fact that the relationship had failed was making me feel a little unlovable.
While, I meet a woman in Chile - a fellow traveller on the gringo trail. We flirted and hung out for a couple of days. Nothing happened between us, but just knowing that there was someone out there that took a fleeting interest in me made me feel much better about myself again.
So, while not a story of true love, at least it is some indication that joy and growth can come from the road.
P.S. Oh, and then there was this time when I made out with a stripper on the beach in Corpus Christi... But I'll save that story for another day.
...i did manage to get my first kiss
early eighties, butlins, bognor regis!

Do work trips count? If so, yes.....
Got married in June (photo in my profile) and happily living in Norway now. She put a bit of a dent in my round the world for 10 years idea, but hey it's worth it (yes, she's looking over my shoulder right now... hehehe)
Nope, haven't met "the one" yet, but am planning a trip to Holland in late October, so who knows?
nope nope.. so far, NO or maybe because of i seldom travel oversea.
But i have met those travellers who came to my country to travel, so far i have met the guy from Aus, UK and Japan. Ok.. they are nice guys but just not a good timing, i bet.
No i never meet "the one".
But i never travelled too much, so...
I'm single and i would find "the one", in some place in the world (or near planets...)therefore if there are some aussie girls that want write me and meet me, i'm here in Rome to receive your mails of love!!!
