Hi, I am going to be traveling Europe starting the 19th of March 2008. I have a rough itinirary and would appreciate some help on how to get from point to point.
I'm looking for the cheapest way possibly seeing that I am kind of on a budget. Any suggestions and reccomendations as to hostels, clubs, night life, sight seeing, etc, will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!
My trip includes:
Sorrento Italy March 20 - March 24 I will take a train to Florence from Sorrento
Florence Italy March 24 - March 26
Prague March 26 - March 30
Paris March 30 - April 1
Belgium April 1 - April 5
Amsterdam April 5 - April 7 then I will be flying back to the US from Amsterdam.
i stayed at http://www.travellers.cz/en/dlouha-pension-hostel-prague.php when i was in prague, its one of the cheaper ones there but has the advantage of being smack in the centre of the city. its clean but you do get what you pay for, still they have a small bar and free breakfast. theres a great night club in prague, just next to the charles bridge if i remember correctly, 5 separate floors each with different music i believe
Florence to Prague is a long trip overland (minimum 16 hours with several stops). There is a sleeper train from Venice however; if you don't want to fly then you could make your way to Venice in the late afternoon and get the overnight train. I don't know how much it costs but you would obviously recoup some of the money given you wouldn't have to pay for a hostel/hotel than night.
You've left it pretty late to buy tickets if you are not on a Eurail pass.
But you are very lucky: There are flights for 9 EUR from Milano Bergamo to Prague on March 25th.
Another option would be on 27th from Treviso for 122 EUR.
Both cases airline is SkyEurope Airlines. If you want those, book soon!
Flight with Smart Wings is 115 EUR for Prague-Paris on the 30th.
I think you forgot to mention the taxes. Its not 9€, 30-40.
It was 9 EUR incl. taxes at the moment when I posted the above info. Of course, this was 4 days ago.
Emerald Fields hostel in florence is great, and really friendly.
If you're lucky marco will take you out on the town for the night, not to be missed!
MIJE hostel in Paris, very central, very very good hostels. Only one I could find as central, and reasonably priced.
Feel free to contact me for any other info
