Hi Alanro,

Of course it will! Most employers are very aware of the risks of employing "illegal" workers.

Or rather, it may not be difficult to find someone to employ you who doesn't check for a visa, but if the employer or you get caught out, the employer faces prosecution and you will be thrownout of the country and banned from returning for 3 years (at a minimum).

You are under 31 so you can apply for a WH visa, why don't you do that? It will make your life much easier on arrival.

Cheers :)

I was reading about WHV's in NZ and Aus, my friend will be 31 when we arrive in NZ but she will be 30 when she applies, I presume this is ok?
But I happened to stumble across this whilst researching....you can apply for a IEP Working Exchange Visa, you can be aged between 18-35 if you are a British or Irish Passport holder. However you can only do this through BUNAC, its also available to people who have already had a WHV in NZ. Here's the link: http://www.bunac.co.uk/uk/worknewzealand/eligibility.aspx
I think its pretty good! I'm not sure if you can do this in Aus though?

It depends on what type of work you want. If you see an advert online or in the paper, call them and ask if it's cash in hand. You wont find many places willing to do it, but there are some, just don't expect to get paid much.
