Does anyone know of any cheap websites where I can buy travel gadgets, like packsafes (the wire mesh that you can put round your backpack), torches, money belts, waterproof cases? The cheapest I've seen for a packsafe is £45.00 and this just seems a lot. I've looked on ebay and there is nothing on there.
Any help would be great...

Can you buy stuff from Amazon.com? They have PacSafes.

I've looked on Amazon, but they still appear to be around £45.00, which I was suprised about because its normally significantly cheaper on there.

Rach, personally i wouldn't bother with a pacsafe. I took one with me to SEA 2 years ago and found it more of a burden. They are extremely heavy, quite expensive and rather 'faffy' to put together.

I think they are intended to secure your backpack when you are on the train/bus and you are unable to keep your eye on it (i.e. it is stored on top of the bus, in a separate storage compartment on a train etc)

I found it a lot of hassle getting on a small/narrow train or bus and spreading it out and wrapping the bag within in especially if you are in a hurry. Plus as i said before, they are quite heavy (well the medium-large ones are)

I was thinking of getting the smaller version, which is just a simple wire that you can thread through your straps to secure it to a pole etc. I know it doesn't give you as much peace of mind, but to me it will be more beneficial.
This is only my opinion, not sure what everyone else thinks.....

I've been looking at this one on Nomad Travel http://www.nomadtravel.co.uk/catalog/view/pacsafe-backpacker-medium-5585lts-

But ive read a lot of posts from people saying they aren't worth the hassle. I may buy one just for piece of mind when leaving my bag in a beach hut when I'm out and about :)
