So, after years of thinking about it, I've finally booked a flight to Australia and sorted out a WHV.
I'm arriving in Brisbane on the 16th of May and staying until the 8th of December (when I go home via the USA).
I've had a look at hostels online, and was thinking of booking into the Bunk hostel for at least a week. Does anyone know if it's good/bad? Or know of any other better hostels? As for the rest of my time there, would it be better to stay in hostels (long term) or try to find a room in an apartment? I know that here (Scotland) there are a lot of people who share with like 4-9 others so rent is cheap, but maybe it's not the same in Australia.
I'm definitely hoping to get a job asap once I get there. Doing what, I'm not really sure...
I'd like to do the 3 months harvest work, so that I can go back for a second year, but with only being there for a (relatively) short time, I don't know if it's practical...
Basically, I'm going to land in Australia with just the clothes on my back and a small suitcase. And some money.
Any tips/advice would be very much appreciated!
