hey folks, almost set to go to oz. was looking at flights and found the perfect flight!!

however it doesn't land in sydney and i was wondering. if granted an electronic visa, how important is it that you get your passport stamped?? does it help with employment or have any other benefits??

i'm flying to cairns and this flight goes straight to cairns from hk and is over £100 cheaper than going to sydney first!!

can i get my passport stamped at cairns airport??

thanks in advance

I tthink the answer is yes. I think all airports will be required to have the facilities to do so

Yes, you can get your passport stamped in Cairns. Any airport handling international flights will have the facilities to handle immigration/customs issues. It certainly would be a good idea to avoid a stopover in Sydney if you can avoid it, as it would mean several hours extra flying, not to mention the extra hassle of changing flights. Cairns is a nice small airport and I found their immigration and customs staff very friendly when I went through there.
