I have a rought outline of my travel plans for the summer but want to know how practical they are..and if I have missed anything out that I should really include as this will probably be my first and last chance to travel Australia, NZ and islands due to funds and job! Cash is not really a big issue, and I plan to fly between each place to save on time - but my time is really limited. I only have 5 weeks so this is my rough guide..
Sydney - 8 days, including a trip to Canberra and a trip to Newcastle
Cairns - 5 days
Alice Springs/Ayres rock - 3 days
Melbourne - 4 days
New Zealand - 5 days
Fiji - 2 days
Tonga - 2 days
Samoa - 2 days
Any suggestioons of what to skip/include/spend more time etc would be great?!
We'll you can certainly skip Canberra...not much to see other than government buildings and a few museums. Certainly more time in NZ...the Auckland, let alone cannot be done in 5 days, so no shot of even seeing the South Island...
And maybe add one more day to Fiji to see the Yasawa Islands
I would say the same, 5 days is not enough for New Zealand, but if you don't have alot of time I would suggest spending it on the south island. I spent 3 days alone in just Queenstown, when I was there last July. To get the full feel of NZ at least two weeks its the best time to spend there.
My suggestion, please try to go Gold Coast, it is so nice.....
My experience was staying at Beach Comber at Surfer Paradise. The hotel located in the heart of Gold Coast just only AUD$90 per night....the room was equiped with kitchenette, facing a beach and at level 14....
[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please... ]
2 days is not enough for Tonga, Samoa or Fiji, 'cause the point is to see the beautiful beaches and countryside isn't it? - Pick one and spend a week there instead. (btw, pick Samoa )
