Paul,
Here is the link for VN embassy in the UK. Contact them when you have the dates you want to visit VN. There are several other options if you are not flying into VN first. You can get a VN visa easily in Cambodia, Laos or Thailand. There is also a system of getting a visa on arrival if you make arrangements beforehand. Read about it here and decide what is the best option for you. Good Luck.

James,
Yes, you can do it if you are flying into VN. Click on the link I provided and read about this option. If you have your arrival information and a credit card, it is pretty simple. I got a VN visa on arrival in '06 and will get another mid April when I return to VN.

Thanks vegasmike, however i think it is more likely that i will be entering the country overland i.e. via the mekong delta.
Would i therefore need a visa (from the embassey)before i enter the country?

Thanks

JD

JD,
As of now, you must have your VN visa before you arrive at a land border. You can get it at any of the neighboring countries. Cambodia is probably the easiest and cheapest place to get a VN visa. You can get it in as little as 15 minutes in Sihanoukville for about $30. Or one day service in Phnom Penh can be as cheap as $28. It will cost much more than that in Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand.

If you have questions, send me a PM. Good Luck.

Hey, have done the visa on arrival, was amazingly easy and convenient, but flew into Ho Chi Minh. I think I've read that SOME but not all of the overland points of entry also do VOA, but you'd need to check it out. I used https://www.stayinvietnam.com/Visa/VisaApplication.aspx to arrange it, they were terrific and might be able to offer you specific advice. I've also heard that Sihanoukville in Cambodia is THE best place in SE Asia to get a Vietnam visa (can be done same day on the cheap) as Vegasmike6 suggests. Haven't tried it myself, but Cambodia's beautiful at any rate. VOA through stayinvietnam.com was also cheaper than any embassy options that I saw, by about $20USD.
