tayn66 has indicated that this thread is about Thailand

I'm from the UK and am going to be in South East Asis for three months this year (2004)

I would like to spend a proportion of this time volunteering in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam. I was thinking of doing it for a month but could potentially do it for longer.

I can teach English but also am skilled with computers so can do this sort of stuff too.

I am a bit wary of some of the organisations offering these placements so am looking for a recommendation. Can anyone recommend projects which they've done before? One which looks good is Open Mind Projects (

if you are in Hoi An, can volunteer at the Hoi An Orphanage which is near the christian church. i think the hours are 9 - 11:30 a.m. and 1 - 4 p.m..........

you can help feed the kids, play with the older children, etc. it is a great organization and they can use extra hands.

Hi, you can consider this post at Friends in Cambodia too.

I have been there before and i really like the work that they are doing for the street children. Hope this helps.
