I'm from the UK and am going to be in South East Asis for three months this year (2004)

I would like to spend a proportion of this time volunteering in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam. I was thinking of doing it for a month but could potentially do it for longer.

I can teach English but also am skilled with computers so can do this sort of stuff too.

I am a bit wary of some of the organisations offering these placements so am looking for a recommendation. Can anyone recommend projects which they've done before? One which looks good is Open Mind Projects (www.openmindprojects.org)

Thanks,

Antonio

hi.

if you are in Hoi An, Vietnam......you can volunteer at the Hoi An Orphanage which is near the christian church. i think the hours are 9 - 11:30 a.m. and 1 - 4 p.m..........

you can help feed the kids, play with the older children, etc. it is a great organization and they can use extra hands.

Hi, you can consider this post at Friends in Cambodia too.

I have been there before and i really like the work that they are doing for the street children. Hope this helps.
