Entering and leaving on different passports

Travel Forums General Talk Entering and leaving on different passports

Hello, anyone know if I can enter a country on one passport and enter the next on another.

Example: If the country you wanted to enter required a visa for the citizenship of the passport your are currently residing under.

If that makes any sense:P

Cheers

dont think so since you have to fill out the imigration paper with your personal data and passport number when you enter,Imigration will check the computer and gives you an entry stamp in your passport.you have also to keep the stamped imigration paper and give it back to imigration when you leave the country.

It is not a problem as long as you enter and exit the same country using the same passport. :)

Computers are only as good as the people operating them. You'll probably be fine leaving on a different passport since its only the airline personal that see your passport when you leave. When you leave they will ask where your entry stamp is and you tell them, either your passport was lost and thats a replacement, or you took the entry visa out to apply for an extension and you haven't heard back. What they enter is a mystery, but its worked for me.

I suppose that depends which country you are entering and leaving. It's not allowed in the US and they to have the means now to check. If you are not processed for departure under the same passport their system will show that you have not left the country. However they are very shorthanded on manpower and at present checking this is not priority unless you have comitted a crime or done something suspisious. In this case they might check to see if you are still in the country, but they would probably look for other passports in your name at that point and figure out what you did. And they wouldn't be happy.
