Sander has indicated that this thread is about Peru

Can anyone recommend a nice place to stay in Puno for a couple of days? Something around $15-$20 a night (so around the point where hot water is guaranteed, a notch or two above really "budget" places)?
We'd chosen the Miski Wasi Inn at first, but they don't reply to our emails, and aren't bookable online that we've found... :/

Don Titos was a nice place, we stayed there a few days, nice clean rooms, hot showers, fairly central. only 30 sols from memory.

On your puno map, go down lima till you run into Oquendo- parque pino, head down towards av los incas- past the markets, across the train line/road, there should be a nice bakery on the corner, don titos is about half way down the block on the same side as the bakery.

Hope that helps. I liked Puno, met lots of people who think its a dump, but i enjoyed walking around at night through the markets, sooo many people out walking, could barely move at times!

We stayed in a nice hotel just off from the main square called Conde de Lemos inn. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the en-suite showers (or bath) always had hot water. I think a double room was about $35 though, a dont know if this would too expensive. The usual tour to the floating islands was good as also was a tour to sillustani a pre-inca site.

we stayed in the don julio hostel. good price, clean, safe, warm showers and they organised a 2 day/1 night trip round the islands for only 60 soles per person

we stayed at Hostal Margareta, close to the Plaza the Armas and Jr. lima. Has hot water, and cost s/ 55 for a double.
