Some last-minute questions for Buenos Aires

Travel Forums Central/South America & The Caribbean Some last-minute questions for Buenos Aires

Hi All,
I am leaving for Buenos Aires in less than 5 days and have some last-minute questions. They are as follows:

a) What is the best mode of transport between San Telmo and AEP airport (airport for domestic flights)

b) What is the best and safest place for luggage storage in Buenos Aires?

c) Any idea what the cost of a local cell phone sim card is?

Responses to my questions will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Pranav

a) What is the best mode of transport between San Telmo and AEP airport (airport for domestic flights)

There are 3 ways:

Taxi
cost: $60-80 pesos, takes 45 minutes- 1 hour

Tienda León Bus, check http://www.tiendaleon.com.ar/prehome.asp

Bus 86, $1,50 pesos (you need coins) it take about 2 hours to San Telmo and goes by Paseo Colón Ave. : Facultad de Medicina... and Parque Lezama

b) What is the best and safest place for luggage storage in Buenos Aires?
At the airport, Your Hotel ...
If you´ll visit the city for a few hours probably is better if you transfer your luggage to local airport storage it there, them go back

Hum... Macachae, AEP is Jorge Newbery, not Ezeiza...

Depending on your amount of luggage, take a bus from San Telmo to Aeroparque; the person behind the desk of your ho(s)tel will be able to tell you which one. Alternatively, it's a 15-minute cab ride in bad traffic, which costs about a fifth of what Maca was saying.

from the center to the Aeroparque I paid last time (Feb) $ 8-10
to Ezeiza (international) $27-30 depending of the time, like 4.00am
Most hostals work together with a taxi agentur and will tell you the price in advance.
Radio taxis are using the meter

Hostals will storage your luggage free of charge, had never a problem.
