I'll be travelling from istanbul to cairo this May and I'm having a bit of a problem finding a reasonably priced plane ticket. The lowest I've seen is $275 USD on Egyptair, which recently went up to $398USD. Should I wait until I get to Turkey to purchase the ticket (I'll be in turkey for about a week)? Or should I purchase now? Are there any budget airlines other than air arabia?
Personally I do not recommend Egyptair..
Try booking a ticket with Turkish Airlines.. They have nice planes and good service.
NO!! Do NOT wait till you get to Istanbul, since the fares will increase too much within the last 24 hours to the departure.
Try getting a ticket in advance to avoid a long stay in the airport..
However, if you have an American Express credit card, there is this free lounge in Istanbul Artaturk Airport which is pretty luxury..
I hope this answer helps.
Try contacting one of the travel agencies in the Sultanahmet area in Istanbul. Phone them and most will happily book a flight ticket for you if you give them the details of your credit card. You can then pick up the ticket just before you fly. IIRC the LP Turkey had a list with good travel agencies.
