Any of you going to join the outrage that the English letters in a store sign were the same size as the French letters? It makes front-page news here. Sincerely.

Ok, this is off topic, but believe me when I tell you that Montreal/Quebec is not alone. There are many municipal councils doing similar things in Malaysia in the name of defending the Malay language (the official language), and thus passing a bylaw which requires the font size of Malay words to be double the size of any other languages (usually English or Chinese) on the sign. And the irony is that many of the local councillors who passed the bylaws aren't speaking perfect Malay either. They should worry more about the maintenance of public facilities and many other things.

So yeah, some people just have too much time on their hands. Anyway, that's my rant of the day and let's get back to topic.

I think some people need to develop a thicker skin and not think that everything that they disagree with is a personal affront to them.

How about asking nicely for something instead of arrogantly demanding all the time? But apparently the peace loving Persians making these demands can't play well with others and insist on throwing their toys out the pram. Grow up, and learn how to live and negotiate in a civilized manner rather than thumping your chests like apes.

Learn how to be polite, and more people might agree with your own assessment of yourselves. Or you could just declare a jihad and kill everyone that looks at you wrong. Or is that what the new enrichment centrifuges are for?

"America, F**K yeah! Here to save the bleeping bleep da-ay"

Or Non-Denominational, Gender-Neutral, Politically Correct, Non-Offensive Body of Water.

Umm... I take offense to "Body of water" as it may be confused with making claims of sexual orientation. Obviously since it is 'touching' other bodies of water we might have to simply refrain from saying 'body of water' and simply change to 'water.' although, simply calling it 'water' may imply that we are discriminating against 'land.' Having said that, those for land and against water are not accurately represented. Also, those for water and not for land are also not represented.

Then we will have the obvious problem of questioning the union of one body of land and one body of water. However, in court what will we do when the water recedes from the land? Even more confusing would be when the water engulfs the land. How will we treat the land/water combo when it wants to reproduce and form islands? Is high tide and low tide simply a work progression or act of infidelity? Is this a punishable cause? How do we begin to punish the land or water for their various acts of defiance? Are there separate but 'obviously equal' punishments for salt and fresh waters? Likewise, are there separate but 'obviously equal' punishments for various types of terrain?

Furthermore, since the ‘water’ is non-denominational how do we proceed with a union of the ‘land’ and ‘water?’

I say we burn down some villages and perhaps pillage the country side in the meantime while we figure it out.

Lagered, if you have that much time on your hands to think all of that through then you are sorely ignoring your duties of producing beer over in the other thread. Don't make me start an online petition to force you into submission...

I think we should call it the Google Gulf as they are quickly trying to take over the world anyway.

Hats off to lagered for such a wonderful presentation on 'Land' and 'Water'

'Water' seems to be bisexual as it is the dominant partner and having the exclusive privilege of either to 'recede' and 'engulf' the poor and hapless 'land':)

Does this mean calling it a "booty of water" is off limits?

The beautiful islands in the midst of deep blue oceans are the real "booty of water"

The islands are the typical off-springs of the union of 'water' and 'land'

"booty of water" is definatly off limits and most likely punishable through a mutually agreeable punishment given by a congress of selected representatives from each gender including those of mixed gender, nationality, duel + nationalities, those who own dogs, who own cats, whom own multiple domesticated animals, the farm vote might have to count as half becuase lets be serious here, anyone of viking descent, and those who claim there chickens can bark will consititue 1/8 votes.

No, they could not be called "booty of water" please see earlier post.

However, islands would be the legitimatly recognized love child of 'land' and 'water.' However, the chicken before the egg argument would dicate that we discuss at length wether the land or water came first before we approriately describe whom bore this "love child." However, due to religious constraints, we may in fact never be able to discuss this issue becuase the 'water' is supposed to be non-denominational (sigh). Therefor, we should simply recognize the islands as 'the children of 'water' and 'land.''
