It's not really a dynamic town, great for seafood and markets/shopping, the beaches are ok, but when we stayed up the road at Cha Am for about 10 x days and visited for a day, it seemed like a place where you mostly enjoyed yourself at the resort during the day and went to town at night for some fun.
It felt ok though, not a backpackers place, and you may be lonely if travelling solo.

As Balinova says it is not a dynamic town. Visited last year - bars don't stay open till late (from memory 10.30-11.00pm). A quieter tourist destination which I found a rewarding change. A number of nearby golf courses if that is your fancy. The water temperature at the beach was the warmest I have experienced in the gulf of Thailand. I visited in June (low season) and found the lack of a crowd pleasing. Having said that, 3 days was long enough for me before moving on to Koh Samui. We hired a tuk tuk on one day to take us around the area for a sightsee taking in the King's Palace etc. I would suggest 10 days as too long given that you could spend some of those days at another destination. Just my opinion.
