Travel Forums Asia No More Oasis Hong kong!!

I'm really not happy as Oasis HK the low cost airline from UK to HK has gone bust! I have flown with them and they are great and i was planning on flying a lot more with them but they have gone bust. Its such a shame as it will probably put off other airlines trying the long haul low cost option. So I guess its back to £500+ flights to SE Asia again. :(

I think it's difficult to see how low-cost long haul flights could be sustained given the increasing price of fuel. Shame for those of us on a budget though.

AirAsia X is scheduled to start the Kuala Lumpur - London route by the end of this year after they've received their new plane from Airbus. Let's hope that they will manage it well.

Cathay Pacific has come to the rescue.

Fellow Hong Kong airline Cathay Pacific is offering specially priced one-way flights for stranded Oasis passengers and is scheduling extra flights.

Not to worry. I've booked via BA for cheaper than Oasis HK! Woo score!

It's a shame this has happened - I flew with them last year London-Hong Kong, and it was a good flight.

There's a form available on the Oasishongkong website on which you can apply to the liquidators for a refund.

Although I would have used them if possible and of course I don't like to pay more than necessary, somehow I am a bit happy as well. See what happens to Riga or Marraskesh when very cheap flights are offered....said
