Hi guys,

Can anyone advise me on the weather in Gambia in June.

It seems like the start of the rainy season but will this have any impact on a proposed week long beach break? We don't want to go there and have crap weather!!

Hey Joey,

Have a look at this climate chart of Banjul. It seems that June is the start of the rainy season but compared to the months after it still looks ok. 50 mm a month is less than in the UK or Holland for that matter;)

Have fun!
P.S. Don't forget about visiting the interior towards Georgetown. A trip on the Gambia river is great I found

Cheers Michael,

Thanks so much for the reply. I have done some more research and it seems the weather will be ok and we are planning on going in early June as the rain seems to really kick in in July.

My girlfriend and I are not typical package holiday tourists at all and had never even considered going on a package holiday before but a new house, buying furniture etc has made money a bit tight this year. £363 for a week half board on a sunny beach in a friendly west African country can't be bad right?

There seem to be some great excursions that you can do from the resort as well. The Gambia River trips look great and we will definitely go check out the markets in Banjul as well.
