This is a 2 part question that basically asks what is the best beer in the world. Firstly the question is what is the best beer you ever drank for reasons more than just the taste, and secondly, just what country makes the nicest beer in the world taste wise. I shall start...

1. Best beer I ever drank was a Chang beer in Thailand on Ko Phi phi whilst eating my first ever "real" Thai green curry, watching the world go by on that amazing island.

2. Whilst in Germany I have to admit that I never had a bad beer and their wheat beer is just amazing, so I will have to vote for German beer being the best in the world.

It would both be German bier for me. I like the taste of freshly microbrewed beer, not the canned or bottled types.

I did a language/culture immersion trip to Muenster four years back and the bunch who went was great, really fun-loving and crazy. We had many a happy time at pubs and clubs and beer gardens, in addition to hilarious communication mishaps with the locals, lessons in front of the Schloss, at the weekly market etc. Plus I got to stay with a fabulous host family whom I'm still regularly in touch with.

Can't remember a better trip. In fact I've hardly touched beer since!

1. In general Jupiler, a Belgium lager beer. The best beer ever: after a 7 and a half hour walk in the Flinders Ranges in Australia, with temperatures hiting 35 degrees. And no it was not fosters

2. Best lager beer would be the Czech Republic. Best weat beer agree with Germany. But for some good special beers I vote for Belgium: Palm, Leffe, Duvel, Koninck, it's all great!

Cheers!

Beer Laos for both answers!

It's the best beer I have tasted, and I had it while floating down the river, tubing, in Laos which was just fantastic! :)

I'm going to have to be a bit biased here and say that there are any number of beers that could be considered the best™. Unfortuantly, Anheuser Busch has bought the right to claim best™ and any other claims will be denied heavily and then those who made the claim will be ritualistically pelted with 24 oz cans of hot climato...

Best beer in the world you say...

Perhaps i'm a bit biased (okay, a lot biased) but the world seems to think us Wisconsinites™ you know, one of them northern states in Freedomland™ happen to know a thing or two about beer. According to the last world beer cup, Wisconsin took home more awards than most countries. I'll have to go ahead and put in my nomination for Wisconsin brewers who happen to know a few things about putting these hop thingys™ and malted barely together!

Cheers!

lol.

Best beer drank: Probably Beerlao floating down the Nam Song in Vang Vieng Laos.

Best beer made: I really liked Beerlao, at that price its hard not to like it... Hmm, id say Germany has some very nice brews... San Miguel is not bad either...

Is that the beer "world" cup where only beers from the USA can take part, like the "World" series baseball (plus 1 from Canada, hehe)?
