Hi people..!

On july 2008, I am planning to spend one or two weeks in the UK, I jad been to the London area twice, this time I prefer to see remoter places in thge UK, however, this will be the first time of me coming there alone, so I have no idea where to start and what to do.. I have like a week, maybe two so this gives me time to visit a lot of places..

Any places where I can meet people
For seaside, where should I choose?
Safer and not-so-safer directions?

What about Isle of Man?..

Thnaks in advance for any help!..

Hi,

I'm glad you've already done London as there is now so much more to see and do. I used to live on the Isle of Man and it is a beautiful place when it isn't raining. The same is true about the rest of the British Isles to be honest!!

To get there you either need to fly from Gatwick or take the Steam Packet boat ship from Liverpool. The best time to go is at the start of June for the TT motorcycle racing.

The lake district is good but is very northern in England so it will take a while to get there also.

A good place to go if you like the seaside is Cornwall or Devon, both very nice in the summer. Go to Penzance, Truro or Newquay to start with and explore from there. I suggest a hire car to get around.

Any more questions please ask away...

Enjoy your stay...

Thanks a lot trevgibbs, I am strongly thinking about Isle of Man (and about rain.. well, we don't get too much rain here so I LOVE it when it's raining - it's 200 straight days of sunshine here!)

Actually, about renting a car, I am not so sure I can drive from right, but I might, perhaps, rent a motorbike (been driving them since like 10 years).. Uh.. I also drive trucktors very efficenty, but it'd be quite a view driving one on Scotland :)

Oh.. I already have a valid UK visa, does it let me get in to the Isle of Man?.. I know there's no problem in Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland but Isle of Man has its own coinage, so it must have a seperate goverment of some sort, I assume.

Another thing, Which one is more expensive, London or UK countryside?

Thank you very much.

Not much happens in the IOM, my godfather is from there all he can say for it is good gold and the worlds largest water wheel.

Best seaside - Camber Sands outside Rye in Sussex, the SE coast has the best in the country.

Where to meet people - London.

Remote places with seasides and zero cars - Scilly Isles.
