Heading to Aussielandio in about a month...
Just wondering if anyone knows of hostels that let you work in exchange for accommodation and/or have cheap weekly rates this time of year (winter there i suppose).
I'll be flying into Brisbane and think I'll be looking to stay in that area (Queensland?)
Anyways, any suggestions in any location would be helpful really because I need to start planning.
Thanks in advance!
The following site lists a number of places in Brisbane. It quotes prices to me in Euro(1Euro = 1.7 Australian Dollars at present). Can't help with the work bit, sorry
I tell everyone that asks about this hostel, its awesome! Its called "the treehouse" they are happy to let people work for accommodation (providing they have a spot for you - 99% of people that stay there end up living there coz its so nice ;-) )
Its run by an English couple, Mandy and Harry and their dog Grizzly
Also, google WWOOFing, its a way you can work for accommodation and meals at hundreds of different farms around Australia... a great way to meet people and see parts of the country most tourists never even know about!
