Hi,
I am planning to go form Tirana to Istanbul and return, stopping over at Thessaloniki and Truva ruins. My questiona are:

- is it better to move from Canakkale/Truva ruins to Istanbul by bus, or is it nicer to go by bus to Bandrima and then by ferry to Istanbul Yenikapi?

- Is there a direct bus Istanbul-Tirana? whom can I ask about this?

Thanks a lot,
Elisa

1. Go directly to The Istanbul, there is nothing to see in Bandirma

Getting to and from the Gallipoli Peninsula is easy enough.

There are two main methods.
Bus (17 YTL) connection from Cannakale to Bandirma. Then ferry to Yenikapi. The ferry is nice enough during the day. Ferry (30YTL) To Yenikapi (Istanbul) From Bendirma.

Orbus (27 YTL) directly between the two. The Ferry is well serviced and the bus, though long is also comfortable. You should allow up to 2 hours to transit Istanbul though from the Otokar to your destination, there are service buses that deliver passengers to the other main bus terminals.

You should consider a stay in Canakkale and a trip to the Gallipoli peninsula if you haven't already.

it's such a small area of land containing hundreds of sites close together from the war. We went a few weeks ago and it was really good to get the tour from a local. Tours are available from Eceabat and Cannakale, even from Istanbul, but a taxi tour is great value if you have only a day or two to explore. A 3hour tour of the main sites will cost about 60 YTL. The drivers wait for the ferry from Cannakale every day and are wiling to change the sites visited to suit. You may feel a little rushed but it is worth it.
