Travel Forums Asia Gettting from Vietnam to the Phillipines

Hi,

Will be in Hanoi early May and flying out of Kuala Lumpur late June.

I have 2 options - overland through cambodia, thailand and malaysia. or phillipines and indonesia with some flying.

Just wondering what´s the cheapest way to get to manila or anywhere in the phillipines?? The cheapest flights i can find are about $450-500. Is there any other option?

Also, once in the philipines.... how easy to travel through to malaysia?? lots of flying?? expensive? boats?

Thanks a lot

Steven xx

Check out Cebu Pacific - good deals on flights from Ha Noi/ Sai Gon to Manila.

They also have cheap flights to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Yes I also recommend Cebu Pacific. I have flown with them many times and they are very cheap. Just like Ryanair or Easyjet really. You can fly all over the Philippines with them and also to Vietnam and Malaysia.

Cebu is the way to go alright, there's some damn cheap stuff with them, also check out Air Asia they have a 23 Euro flight from Clark- manilla to Malaysia... BUT

You must have on ward tickets in either case when entering Philippines, Cebu will not let you on board without one! I bougt a cheap air asia out and was asked by Cebu if I had return ticket or not. I showed them the ticket, they were fine, some others did not have onward, and were not allowed on. So they had to rush to a bz center and buy then.

around the Philippines once you get here... you may choose to fly with Cebu Pacific to get you to major airports in the country...they generally offer cheap tickets... So from Hanoi you can use Cebu Pacific to connect to Manila, and you might even be able to connect to Cebu...

But from Manila you can connect to most of the islands using Cebu Pacific, or you can also use SEAir to get to some places with smaller airports like Caticlan to get to Boracay...

Then you can use Cebu Pacific to connect you back to KL from Manila or Cebu..

If you are in Zamboanga City, there's a ferry service to Sandakan, Sabah. About 23 km from Sandakan is the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary.
