HaadRinGuide has indicated that this thread is about Thailand

I'm planning on spending Christmas in Ko Phan Ngan (ideally at Hat Rin) but the Full Moon Party is scheduled for 26th and I've heard that when the Full Moon Party is on you have to get there several days in advance to make sure you have somewhere to stay. The soonest I can probably get there is 20th December, so will this mean I am taking a risk with regard to finding accomdation or will I be okay?

If I'm pushing it then what would be the ideal date to get there to be guaranteed of somewhere to stay?

Christmas and New Year's Eve is the busiest time of the year in most destinations in Thailand. If you want to make sure you get accommodation I would recommend you to book in advance.

This is especially true for Phuket which is the area I am mainly familiar with, many hotels are already fully booked for this time.

This page have some hotels located at Hat Rin: http://www.phuket-info.com/hotel/kohphangan/index.php
