Mmm. Some places here give you a choice of mayonnaise--curry, dijon, bernaise (my favourite!), etc. etc.

I agree about the raw onion, though. Stand back!

Yep, and mayo and curry or ketchup, called a 'patat oorlog'. Oorlog means war

Fish and chips is really lovely BUT it can be very hit and miss about getting the good stuff. There is a great place in Gallway called McDonaghs (?) that does amazing F&C. Also there is a rather cheeky little number in Brighton that is also excellent. Good F&C = Amazing, Bad F&C = greasy s***. I love it with salt ,vinegar, pepper, peas and ketchup.

Yup McDonaghs in Galway is soooooooo good- the garlic crab claws are to die for!!!!
