Hi all!

Can anyone suggest any lively hostels; in these cities? I am traveling solo, and looking to connect with people. Maybe do some tours and activities.

When will you be travelling? We should have something up very very soon that will help a LOT in the 'connecting' department :)

Haven't stayed in a hostel in Paris or London, but a few years ago Peter and me stayed at the Avalon House (listed here on TP) and it was nice. Clean, breakfast included and a very central location. I'd certainly recommend it to others.

I can highly recommend Piccadilly Backpackers in London. That is in a great location and when I last stayed there in 2006 was mid range in price. It had all the things that make for a good hostel (unless of course you are 60 or 70 and wanting a place where nobody is).

I stayed at 3 Ducks hostel in Paris which was reasonable without being great. I would have rated that about a 6 or 7 out of 10. I have heard that "St. Christopher's Paris" hostel is a pretty good one, but is a little bit out of the central area so depends how important location is. Apart from that it is meant to be about an 8 or 9 out of 10 for pretty much all other things hostels get rated on.

Can't remember where I stayed at in Dublin but it wasn't that great anyhow.

Hey, I'm also a fan of Avalon House in Dublin. It is a bit noisy and all, but nice enough and good set up for meeting other travellers. Had a friend who stayed at Palmers Lodge in London and she really recommends it. As far as Paris I stayed at the MIJE hostels (I'd recommend Fauconnier over Maubuisson though all are good) and really liked it. The rooms are nice and very clean, and breakfast is decent for a hostel bfast. However, not the best place to meet other as there do tend to be a lot of school groups there. Good luck!
