Ok we head out to Europe in a weeks time (May 6th) so we don't have much time to get visa's & stuff.
I had planned on simply going to the embassy in HK (since I understand no visa is necessary for UK nationals for HK) however with the new Chinese visa regulations this (as far as I understand it) is no longer an option.
Am I better off getting the train down to London & getting it same-day ????
We plan on landing in Hong Kong on June 5th
If you really want to be on the safe side, I think you should get it in London and pay an extra £20 for same day express service on top of the visa fees. Otherwise, you'd risk having your China trip cancelled if they refused to do it for you in Hong Kong. Also, contact the embassy first to check if there's any new requirements (e.g. flight tickets, trip itenerary) for visa application during this Olympic Games period.
i agree with Hien go there and get them yourself their are so many problems that can go wrong at the moment
and their being very fussy.
i suggest that you take everything that you have to do with your traveling
we sent ours off 7 weeks ago and only got them back today(we had to go to London to get them)we leave on Thursday.
as it stands with the china visas you need
(1)flight confirmation if flying in to china
(2)a booking reff for your accommodation in china
hope all goes well.
