you're a UK passport holder? If so, I don't think you need a visa to stay here for a short time... I believe you are allowed to enter the Philippines not more than 21days.. they you need the visa...

where in the Philippines are you going? well i hope you enjoy your stay here, just bring your rain gears as July time maybe rainy specially in Luzon and the Pacific coast...Visayas, Mindanao and Palawan should have better weather..

I always thought that the Philippines is hell expensive...

Until, I visited Hanoi, Hue, Nah trang, Hoi An, and Saigon.
Even Cambodia aint cheap at all.

We dont use Dollars in the Philippines...

Manila is a metropolis... it is nothing like Hanoi or Phnom Pehn. But it can be cheaper, if you know eat where the locals eat and that includes MC.DONALDS and KFC.

But the attractions are not a stone throw away... you spend to get to places. I am not a big fan of the Philippine tourism. But now I can say its worth a visit. And it aint that expensive, given the fact that the main cities are more modern than cities in Indo China.
