Me and my husband want to spend a week - 10 days in italy and would love to get some suggestions about what we could fit in whilst there.
We are considering either flying to one main city and hiring a car and exploring the city more or else flying into one city and driving to a few different places during our stay.
I love the idea of the amalfi coast but also love the idea of the cities so it would be great to hear suggestions of both.
Thanks for your help!
Italy in July- urrgh, no thanks!
Sorry, but it gets very hot during this time and it will be very crowded.
But if you are determined: Yes, it is possible to do the classic Rome-Florence-Venice circuit in ten days.
Best way to do it would be by train and public transport.
I do not recommend renting a car for a city like Rome. In Florence a car is utterly useless, unless you want to explore the villages in Tuscany around Florence. In the city itself you would be better off renting a bicycle. Same goes for Venice - you cannot drive in Venice.
Yeah its really too hot! Can you wait til September?
Anyway - Tuscany; Areezo, Florence and the countryside is amazing.
Fly to Florence and rent a car around Tuscany, I did this a few years ago for 4 days, amazing.
