Hey there. Would you be able to provide a little bit more information about where you will be going and when?

my advice take as little as possible! u get so frustrated with a backpack that u end up just wearing whats on the top of it! remember u have to carry the bag. honestly no one gives a shit what u wear ( just make sure its clean!) but
essential stuff tho- mp3 player
4/5 tops
black trousers for work
sense of humour!

remember u can buy everything there. gd idea if u plan to work scan yr cv, educational qualifications etc beofre u go

good luck u will have an amazing time

I second the packing light thing!! I'm heading off on my 3rd backpacking trip in a month and each time my pack has been a little less of a burden to carry ;) You'll no doubt buy stuff throughout your trip, so don't worry about having every little thing packed before you leave home. The thing to take the most of would be a backpacker, you can become pretty slack at doing laundry :P Definitely take an i-pod/mp3 player for entertainment on long bus trips/flights etc etc.

Read up on your destinations before you go really helps you to feel more familiar with things when you arrive. But don't carry a guidebook. They're bulky and heavy. The internet is your friend for info while on the road :)

Haha. I think im the opposite of everyone else. I like to take as much clothes as possible. Everything get sweaty so fast in the sun, and its a pain to have to wash you clothes all the time. Normally you dont have to carry your backpack around all that much anyway, and clothes aint that heavy.
