I was just wondering if anyone out there on Travellers Point has done the Trail Blazer with Trek America - around the states from NY to NY.
I'm looking at doing it, all the reviews on the website are ace, and it looks amazing, but I was just wondering what you guys thought about it, if you have done it, or if you have done a shorter trek with them.
And if I do go ahead and do it, if there are any essential things I need to have/take with me.
Thanka - you!
i did the atalantic dream new york to miami, and it was amazing, made some great friends-there were only 7 of us on the trip so it made it easy to travel, normally there are 13 people per bus-i too are looking at doing another trek america, as they really are a great company, the trail blazer for me is to much money at the moment, but one day i would love to do that!, but remember its a long time, you will be on the move nearly everyday, and most of the time you will be camping, however, i would let that stop me!!-seize the day and go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm booked on the 42 day Grand Trek (NY to NY) in August. Everyone I know/spoken about Trek America too in real life and online has only raved good reviews. One of my good friends went on a 3 week one last year, and is meeting up with some of them when he is over in Europe this year. I was considering doing the Trailblazer one myself, but more than likely going to Canada on a work-visa afterwards. When I went to quote plane fares to get to NY at a travel agent, another customer overheard me mention to my agent and went on how much of a great time they had. Not sure which trip they went on though.
From a facebook group I joined, they recommend a good torch, a warm sleeping bag, mp3 player if you want your music in the van, good shoes and waterbottle, more than one memory card for the camera etc
I haven't done the Trail Blazer, but I have done a Trek trip before and I'd recommend the company to anyone. I did the 21 day Rocky Mountain High, and I looooved it. As long as you're ok with camping, I'd say go for it and book the Trail Blazer You'll have an awesome time, make some great friends.....and won't want to leave at the end!!!
and most of the time you will be camping, however, i would let that stop me!!-
Yer I'm not worried about camping. I love it, its in my blood! Grew up camping, guiding, scouting, camping fro a whole month in Uganda a couple of summers ago. Love it
