Hey All - Ive been in New Zealand for about two weeks and am having a blast. The weather is deffinately turning though. Anyways, Im headed over to OZ in a week and will have 6 weeks over there. Im curious what the best route is to take. I fly in to Sydney and am thinking about hopin a plane and get right to Cairns. I will head down to sydney from there. OR, should I go south and travel up north? Basicaly, should I go Sydney to Cairns or Cairns to Sydney (in hopes of getting the best weather).

Hope this is making sense. Im trying to catch the best weather (thats why Id shoot right up to Cairns).

Any advice will help.

Thanks

Best weather is obviously in Cairns compared to Sydney. However if you do plan to go to Sydney, maybe now's the time while the weather is still okay.

I reckon you should start in Sydney, then you can jump to tropical climate after having a bit of cold in Syd ;-) Or drive up and watch the climate and landscape change as you go... its a great trip!
