Travel Forums Travel Photography Camera suggestions?

Hi there
I am looking to buy a camera but have no idea where to start and wondered can anyone help me?
I want one that is good quality and produces good quality almost 'professional' looking photos (or as good as I can get) but that is not complicated as I don't know anything about cameras. I'm sure I could work it out but don't want to be fussing changing lenses etc when travelling or just taking photos of friends etc.
I would like a zoom on the camera and probably want one where you can have a flash on when its dark but you can turn it off if you want for daytimes and sunsets etc.
I don't know whether a digital or film camera would be better?
Also if you can suggest some cameras for me can you also suggest the best shops or websites to get them.
I'm probably looking at £150 max but obviously cheeper is a bonus.

Hi Jo.

Go for digital.

Check out this website: It has loads of information.

Hi Jo,

Advising someone a camera is a verry dificult thing.

Just go to a good store (don't live in the uk so can't tell you where) and just have some in your hands and try them.

Probably digital is the most logical step but you never know maybe film is smarter for you.

Go to a store and try and don't let them sell you that one camera that they want to get rid of let them advise and tell you the difference between them.

Good luck,

Try this one

It's capable of excellent results on full automatic and it's only £9 over budget!
