Hi everyone !

My name's Helen and me and my boyfriend are planning a RTW trip for Feb 2005. The main places we want to visit are Australia, NZ, Canada, North America and South America. At the moment we're trying to see whether we can fit all these into a ticket without spending the world! We'd welcome any advice anyone has to offer... !

If it helps, your pound is worth 2.5 Canadian dollars. Plus everything seems to be less expensive here, anyway - so you'll probably be able to stretch your money pretty far. (I went to London in July and spent fortunes - fortunes! - in just 3 days. Bleeping Canadian dollar...)

Agreed about the Canadian dollar! Let's all go to South America and South East Asia (well Thailand at least) to make the most of our lousy money!

Welcome to Travellerspoint Hel! You're gonna have a blast on your trip, as you've chosen some really nice places to visit. Don't forget to pass by Belize, Costa Rica and Panama, on your way to South America. You will definitely not have any problems with your money, cause you guys have the highest currency. I don't know if you guys are avid skiers but if you want sunny warm weather, I suggest you start in Australia. It should be gorgeous there in February. Canada is cold for sure but it's beautiful so if you like that sort of thing, go for it. Otherwise, it's best experienced in the summer. Oh yeah, and head to Central America during the Spring months. Apparently that's the best time.

Good luck and Happy travels!

Tamar

Thanks for the money info Tway - definately useful to know.

And thanks for your advice on places to visit Tamar. I agree with you about starting in Australia, we'd definately like to begin the trip with some nice weather.

Cheers guys!
