Can't be bothered to read the entire thread, so maybe the following is already in there:

Legal age for buying tobacco and beer --> 16
Legal age for everything else, including the use of narcotics, other alcoholic beverages and prostitution --> 18

Don't bother trying any of the latter if you're under 18; the hookers won't let you in, and all shops will refuse to sell you alcohol, pot, etc. Btw, if you don't mind my patronising you, from what you write you do not seem to be ready to engage in unchaperoned travelling.
