If you have 50 pounds a day to spend, then there's really no need is discussing your budget or worrying about it at all. You'll probably be the richest 22 year old that you'll meet in Thailand. So go, stay where you want, eat what you want, drink your face off and have a good time. You got loads of money.

We really enjoyed the northern area of Thailand and loved Chiang Mai. Overall it was cheaper than many other areas we visited as well. If you go to Chiang Mai I would highly recommend this guesthouse.

It was very cheap, but comfortable and great location. Everyone was very helpful in organizing trips out of the city as well. It is only a quick walk to the Sunday market, pubs and other action. I might recommend the rooftop bar in town as well. It is worth checking out the view.

do note that you need to call in advance (from the airport or the bus station) before appearing at Julie's Guesthouse... When I went up the first time, I called, and promptly got a room... However when I returned, I didn't call, and we were turned away...
