hey everyone!

has anyone or is anyone planning to use a suitcase instead of a backpack on their travels? i bought my backpack as soon as i booked flights and stuff and thought it was ideal, as its a really good make and is quite big, so i thought i was sorted...yeah right!!;) i go to oz in 3 days and im starting to get a little stressed as they're hard to pack!! also, i can't fit everything in!!!i kno i'd look silly with a suitcase but i'm seriously considering taking one!!! anyone got any tips???

thanks, lau

ps i know iv asked this before but im getting desperate and need more info!!!!

Hey Laurie,

Not sure if you've seen it already, but there was a huge thread on this a few months ago. You'll find the overwhelming opinion is in favour of backpacks.

Personally, I was pretty happy with our little suitcase and duffel on wheels. As long as you're not going to be hiking around with it, it works pretty well. If you already have a backpack though, I think you should try to work out how to make things fit (you don't want too much stuff with you whether you're taking a backpack OR suitcase) and go for that option.

Cheers, Peter

A couple of years ago everyone had backpacks, but on my last trip I noticed that a fair few backpackers seem to be using suitcases nowadays. Personally I still prefer a backpack, but the suitcases nowadays with the pop-out wheels would do the job just as good I suppose.
