JMKSTL has indicated that this thread is about Spain

Planning anniversary trip to Spain and Portugal next ('09) spring. Would like to make the trip toward end of May. What is the weather like in April and May? We will definitely go before June.

It should be good, but not hot. Lots of sun. Temperatures in the low-mid twenties. You may get a day of rain if you're unlucky, but it will almost certainly clear up for the next day. -snip-

At the moment its 20-22 degrees in the cities you mentioned. The forecast predicts some rain in the upcoming days (but also some sunshine). I guess the weather could be better than this around this time in this area;)

I guess the usual would be something between 25 and 30 degrees during the day and no rain. At night is always a little colder, specially in Madrid. THis year's weather is being specially cold and rainy.
But anyway who know how will be the weather in the future with the planet going mad.

well im in the UK and freezing!

i was in the Algarve and south of Spain end of may until July in 03. May/June isnt bad - its warm, very warm by mid june. i saw no rain for 2 weeks while in Lagos, Faro, Sevilla. By then i wanted to die, if dying meant id be able to drink water and not sweat anymore.

Looked it up and from the cities you mentioned the average temperatures are:

  • Madrid: april 18 max, 4 min, may 22 max, 10 min
  • Barcelona: april 17, 9 min, may 20 max, 12 min
  • Lisbon: april max 19, min 12, May 22 max, min 14

But these are just the average temperatures, it can get much warmer even in March, especially in Andalucia.

Yes, we've had some pretty lousy weather over the past few days (writing from Andalucia). It's been cool, quite cloudy and a fair bit of rain (which is always needed, so I'm not really complaining). I do sympathise with anyone here on holiday from England though, because I also noticed that the UK was getting some nice weather to coincide with our bad weather. You'd have to be a pretty reckless gambler to bet on it happening very often though
