I am about to embark on my RTW trip in 1 month and will be visiting Indonesia sometime along the way. I am just looking into Visa’s and notice that you can get a 1 month visa issued upon arrival or a 60 day visa by applying to the embassy.
How long would you recommend are needed to see all the nice islands at a nice slow pace.
What I am trying to say is, do you think the 30 day visa will be enough or should we just purchase the longer 60 days visa in advance?
What do you all think?
its a massive country so you would probably want 60 days. im going there next month and il struggle to fit everything in within the 60 day visa, but il do as much as i can.
Thanks for the info. Do you know if you can you get a 30 day visa upon arrive and extend it once it expires?
30 days is not enough to see Indonesia at a slow pace. At least if you have a 60 day visa you won't leave knowing you missed out on anything. Plus if you're on a tight budget you will travel around by bus and boat, which is a lot more time consuming.
no the 30 day and 60 day visas cant be extended. if you get the 30 day one you have to leave within that time and iv heard they are strict about this. you can do a visa run to singapore/malaysia/east timor etc and reenter on another 30 day visa but that will be expensive and will probably be more hassle than its worth, you should get the 60 day visa imo.
Right, looks like i will be spending 2 months in Indonesia then!!
As the 60 day Visa has to be purchased ini advance, does anyone know the procedure to do this? What is the best site to apply for it?
just google it, the embassies in london and ul have to send ur passport there or do it in person.
