Accommodation in Beijing

We are staying in Beijing for at least some of our trip to China and wanted to stay in some mid-range accommodation that was original and unique. Any recommendations would be gratefully received.

How exciting to be visiting Beijing. Sorry I cannot help you with accommodation there, but there are some good websites with information. I know if you are visiting during the Olympic Games much of the accommodation will be expensive.
One website that is helpful is Wotif - http://www.wotif.com but that is mainly for discounts about a month ahead. Also do a google search for accommodation in Beijing. I hope another Travellerspoint can help you. Enjoy.

I recommend YueXiu Hotel(3 star) in Beijing, and if you visiting during the Olympics I recommend Hongrun Business hotel.

Other cities: Astor House Hotel (3 star) in Shanghai, Hotel Of Modern Art (5 star) in Guilin, Yangshuo Regency Holiday Hotel in Yangshuo ect.

Because of Olympics, the hotel reserve tensely, you'd better ask some hotel booking center or China travel agency.

I stay at Ibis hotels if they are available in China. They well priced and have everything you need. If not, try hostelworld, they do hostels, guest houses, and hotels. Good luck!
