tedman has indicated that this thread is about Syria

i am thinking of travelling to syria.
i will have only two weeks, maybe even less.
do you think that is still enough for that country?
and which places would you recommend to go?

thanks.

Two weeks and even a bit less is no problem at all when visiting Syria. It is not a very big country and public transport is frequent, cheap and comfortable.
Guessing you will arrive in Damascus?
Damascus deserves two full days and so does Aleppo in the north. One day in Palmyra will be enough as well. Other possibilities include Crac des Chevaliers (crusader castle) and some places between Aleppo and Damascus including Homs/Hama. Even a trip to the Baalbek ruins in Lebanon is possible and that area is rather safe at the moment.
If you want to go further, I can recommend Deir ez Zor. Do a daytrip towards the Iraqi border (still 25 kilometers from it though) to the ancient mesopotamian ruins of Duros Europas (and another one, forgot the name). Take a minibus and just ask to be dropped when you are there, very easy and a real off the beaten track experience I found.

I used Lonely Planet's Syria and Lebanon...worked perfect for me;)
Otherwise, have a look here for some more info.
