What dyu reckon guys?? I'm moving there mid-June and am not sure where the best place to live is? I like beach / cafe culture but also stuff going on at night time too, although I know it will be winter then! Hoping to surf too... Would it be better to live in Perth on the beach somewhere maybe?? Any suggestions greatfully received! Ta

i stayed in fremantle for a couple of weeks in oct/nov and it was fairly dead. it only really came alive on the weekends when everyone would head to the beach or go sailing.
so i say the city or another suburb would be better.
its a real suburb city. i think the majority of people live outside the city.
anyway the train gets you to the beach before fremantle in about 15-20 mins and you can bring your surfboard onto the train when its not rush hour.

i lived off of scarborough beach for a few months while i was there, and i would reccomend that over fremantle. as someone above said, fremantle is pretty dead most of the time.

I would certainly recommend the Northern burbs (e.g. Scarborough) over the Southern burbs (Fremantle).
I live just north of Scarborough and find this area much better for beaches and surf.
Accomodation seems to be pretty scarce and expensive here in Perth due to the massive mining boom so don't know what you will be looking for.
Rental or shared accomodation? Look in Doubleview which is the closest burb inland from Scarborough.
Need any help, just ask.

Perth winters won't be like Irish winters
