Hi,

Does anyone know what the parking is like in Como - and if it is worth renting a car to get around for the evenings. Looks like the ferries only run during the day?

Thanks!

When you say Como, you mean Lake Como, or the town? In the latter case, as Como is fairly small, I'd say you wouldn't need a car to get around. If you want to tour the area around the lake during the evenings, renting a vehicle is definitely a good idea. Afaik, parking at the shore is prohibited in most towns (positive about Como and Bellagio, possibly also goes for Lecco), but if you don't mind walking a few blocks you should be fine.

There are a few garages in Como

Lists 3 garages with contact info

Besides those, parking is near impossible. If there is a free space somewhere in the town, you'd need a residential permit anyways. Como and the surrounding areas are perfect for walking though so that's no big loss.
