I am travelling to australia on a working holiday in January for 12 months and am trying to get as much advice from as many ppl as possible. I'm looking to stay in 4 or 5 cities and work as i go. I'm also trying to find out how many items of clothing etc ppl have taken with them and what is necessary, as i was thinking of taking a suitcase instead of a backpack but didn't know if this would be feasible especially if i stay in hostels. If i take a backpack will it have enough space to fit in enough clothes for interviews/jobs/daytime and evening wear as this is my main concern of taking a backpack? Any help would be appreciated, thanks
I was in Australia earlier this year and going back in December.
A backpack is good if your going to be moving around a lot, even simple things like changing hostels. Also I would recommend a side opening one which makes it more like a suitcase cos you can unzip and see everything you have. I started with a top opening backpack but traded it in for a side opening one cos it was driving me mad having to unpack and repack bag each time I wanted something out out it....cos usually what I wanted was at the bottom!
Try and find shirts that don't need ironing. Hope this helps.
