i am planning to travel extensively through out europe for 6 months or more. i plan to stay in hostels only and am more than happy to eat the local food to cut down on costs, however i do not want to have to cut my trip short or not be able to get in to any sights because i dont have enough money. i plan to go in a year and a half , after i finish high school so that should give me plenty of time to save. i am also thinking of getting a eurail pass aswell. is that a good option? i am an australian citizen, but becuase my mother was born in england it is my understaning that i can get an english passport. any advice on where to stay, what to see and how to do it is more than welcome. how much money do i need???
No such thing as an english passport
60 euros a day is average I'd guess.

This is true, but unless you were registered with the British Births, Deaths and Marriages place not long after you were born, you will have a lot of processes to go through and it will cost you a lot of money. I went through all that stuff a few years ago and it took around 4 months and over $1000.00AUD to finally be able to get a British Passport. I have heard that it is even more expensive now and harder to do so I would start the process running sooner rather than later if you want to get a British Passport because you'll need to be registered as a British Citizen first.
I was averaging about 50 Euro a day but in some places such as Iceland that is impossible to get by on and in Scandinavian countries it is also pretty difficult to get by on. If you saved enough to average 60 Euro a day, you should be able to get by as long as you don't go out getting drunk wasting big lots of cash every couple of nights.
As an Australian London is the place everyone travelling to Europe goes. As for what you should see, you will need to let people know your interests so that people could give suggestions based on what you will like rather than what they liked.
