So, I'm arriving alone in Brisbane, not necessarily to stay there, will go pretty much any where in the country... What kind of work should I expect to find? I've been looking at fruit picking but am hoping to do bar work too, however I've discovered that you need an RSA certificate for bar work. What kind of work do other people do? I'm just scared I'm going to arrive at the airport and wonder what the hell to do next! Help!

lots of people do bar work, and not all areas require the RSA. i think queensland is fairly flexible about not having the RSA to work. but other areas, i.e. sydney, you'll need it for bar work but it only takes about a day or two to get. however i hope you have experience in bar work, or at least are willing to lie on your resume or it may be hard to find work. there's lots of other jobs too, more physical ones like construction, fruit work, in addition to temp office work.

Hey - I just left Brisbane after working their for 5weeks - I joined an Job Agency called WorkTeq - an they threw all sorts of manual labour jobs at me ie warehouse packer, marquee labour etc...all paid around 18-20AUD per hour...just need an Tax File Number & Bank Account which are easily organised.

The problem with working holiday visa is that you dont have preference with jobs over oz citizens which is fair enough in some cases but I found joining an agency alot easier an less headaches
