Personally, whatever the decision is, I'm enjoying myself, and just don't understand these people who take these little trips!

  • A house
  • A mortgage
  • A job
  • Salary to pay for it all
  • 24 cats
  • Only 15 days a year paid vacation

24 cats???

Yup - 24 cats but only 7 live inside. The rest are permanent residents and still need care while we're gone. (We also used to have 3 dogs and a goat as part of our "zoo".)

I would love to have taken the opportunity when l was younger to "travel" for elongated periods of time but l didnt and regret that - right now l can get maybe 4 weeks a year in a given period to take a good trip and then l have to make do with "these little trips"!!!!!!

As others have said - life committments sort of get in the way - the bills need paid, l have a responsible job, lm doing a post grad course ya da ya da ya da.

But this is my choice not foisted on me by anyone - and as lm out earning when l do take "these little trips" l can afford to do it in more style and comfort than simply back packing (which l have done and enjoyed also btw!)
