Out of curiosity, is there some Spanish equivalent to the University for Foreigners in Italy? Some state sponsored language program?

And on that note, where would everyone's choice of study be in Spain?

If you want to learn Spanish, you should go to Salamanca. It's the Perugia of Spain :)

There are tons of language schools in Spain. Salamanca is similar Perugia or Bologna in Italy. The University of Salamanca is the school you should check out. Like I said, you can study throughout Spain but Salamanca is regarded as the top destination for international students learning Spanish.
