Hello, sorry i'm not even quite sure if this counts as travel but besides driving, what would be the best way to get from about Philadelphia PA to Laceyville PA, it's normally like a 2 1/2 hour drive but was wondering if there was a train that ran a good portion of the way or anything...Any help would be appreciated thank you.

laceyville is up near the northern edge of pa, and philadelphia is...well i think everyone knows bottom rightish lol

thanks!

Sorry, to tell you this, but in terms of trains, Laceyville is pretty remote for a Pennsylvania town.

If you look at the Amtrak map:

http://www.amtrak.com/pdf/national.pdf

you'll see that the closest train station is probably either Philadelphia or New York City, neither of which is less than a 2 1/2 hour car drive.

You can probably get there by bus if you need to, but I suggest you rent a car.

P.S. What makes this even weirder is that there is a train route that goes right through the town of Laceyville--but only for cargo trains.

Enjoy

Actually...I found i can get a greyhound bus to Scranton rather easily, however I still need to find
a means of getting from Scranton to Laceyville (About 50 Miles)

Thanks!

Try out these websites which give information on the area, including bus and taxi services:

http://www.endlessmountains.org/route6.html

Hopefully, this will help you get to Laceyville from Scranton.

Oh, and Laceyville is in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania--so it looks like the bus you need is Capitol Trailways (1-800-333-8444).

P.S. It looks like a really beautiful part of the country.

Enjoy

While traveling through Scranton, you might want to check out this famous exhibition of steam trains (including ones you can ride on) in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
